2005 FAMILY ACT UPDATE: 2006 NEW RULING BY FEDERAL COURT JUDGE MAY EFFECT the use of edited (washed) DVDs. Alternatives may be found on the following web sites including purchasing CLEARPLAY DVD player that "FILTERS" offensive contents from motion pictures. The technology is based on software that is downloaded to the CLEARPLAY DVD player in your home. The software and CLEARPLAY DVD player does not "edit" the DVD disc, it filters/edits the DVD as you view it.

Experts say that under The Family Movie Act it is still permissable to show edited movies at home and under Fair Use it is permissable to show edited movies in a classroom where systematic instruction is occurring as long as the movie was the original "legally obtained" copy. No copy must be made/used.
